From time to time, we have these little moments when the penny drops and something clicks. It's enough to stop us in our tracks and wonder how we ever got by without this knowledge or experience before.

The Zen Buddhists know it as Satori;

For some, it can be a profound moment of clarity, when we glimpse enlightenment and realise the true nature of whatever we were thinking or doing, like thinking that "from behind the veil of the internet, we lose all stereotypes, judgement and identity and become or at least portray a truer self", (eg forums). For others, it can be an idea borne from a herbal haze, like "Wow, man, check this out, I've just worked out how to save the world with this pen and a blind goat"

The point is, the feeling can be a valuable lesson and give us insight into how to be a dude and live a more authentic life.

Alan Watts described it as like, when someone tells you a joke and you get it right away without it being explained.
Like: "Oh! Ahahahahaha!"

Or like when The Dude finally tied the whole kidnapping case together, all the strands in ol' duder's head got tied together.

It can't be taught, described, conditioned or encouraged, it just kinda happens.

When your mind becomes like a mirror, reflecting but not clinging, the whole picture is visible.

Or something like that.....I donno

Far out, dude.
