What, exactly, is the problem here, dude? I understand you had a Cynthia / Marty Ackerman type of a situation that impacted your comfort level at the local lanes. But you handled that situation expertly and it seems you're all now friends well and true.

Is there still a problem? (Maybe in a different thread. I'll look around. But I usually just click "Show Unread Posts" when perusing.)

Dudes I apologize...I got shitfaced yesterday and drunk text all my friends and posted this shit. I need to hide my phone the next time I drink like I did yesterday. Please forgive me.

Nothing is fucked here, dude. We've (mostly) all got shitfaced n done stupid shit (sometimes worse), don't sweat it, take 'er easy.

Good work patching things up with the ex, dudeism works.

A Dude

Thanks man, still a little embarrassed. But life goes on man. Can't worry about this shit.

So many things come to mind for me. But I've grown up (mostly) since.

I can't wait for my next beer

Dudes,
I am a new convert to Dudeism. I posted in the new member thread but nothing but tumbling tumble weeds over there.

Anyways, I haven't been bowling in forever, I think my kids would love it. We live in Baltimore so duckpin bowling is like our hometown sport.
if you are ever around the area, check some of these places out. I've killed many a rainy day bowling, drinking beer and maybe playing Keno in the bar.
Also, a lot of these places still look the way they did when they were built in the late '50s-early '60s, so there's that whole retro thing going on.

So that's cool

Brother D

Duckpin bowling dude? Is that some kind of Western thing? How does it compare to tenpin? We have skittles in the uk too, is it similar?

mjcody138

Totally had to Wikipedia the game of skittles Dude.
Duckpin bowling is actually derived from skittles. So yes, very similar - small pins (10) and a small ball.
The place that I frequent also has midnight bowling on Friday and Saturday nights. Day-glo, backlights, food and bar specials.

Or just smoke a bowl and get a bowling app on your phone, all the fun minus the effort. (Bowling can be exhausting).

The latest on my local lanes is, the plot has been sold and the dudes have until December to find new premises. Hmm, the dudes have lost the plot?! Lolz!

I hope they do, or I will have to resort to the above, ( which I do anyway, but hey!).

The latest on my former local lanes is that the parking lot has been torn up, the building has been gutted, and the roof and the back wall are gone.  They've saved the front and side walls so far, but who knows what they're planning.  ::)
I don't go to church on Sunday
Don't get on my knees to pray
Don't memorize the books of the Bible
I got my own special way

I feel your pain Rev dude, it sucks, but life goes on, man. At least you have fond memories of the place, take comfort in that.
