I've had a rough year my dudes. Actually the last two years. I was hit by a car and lost my left leg above the knee. I've tried to have patience, but there is only so much a person can handle. The past few months have been rough between surgeries, losing my income, and more. I need some positivity, so I don't continue having Walter moments or days. I want to abide and be happy again. There is a light at the end of the tunnel but waiting for things to happen is tough when I've endured so much.

Wait just a gul-darned minute, do I hear you getting down on yourself for having "Walter moments or days" after what you've been through? Lemme tell ya, I don't know what state I'd be in if I had to experience what you've had to. I don't think that you need to feel the least bit bad about having a Walter week or month. I don't believe that what happened to you is much different from grieving any loss including the impending loss of life. There are stages that you have to go through to get to a place of peace with this, anybody who tells you different is, well, that's just their opinion. I might recommend Kubler-Ross's writings on the stages of grieving because my impression is that's what you're in the middle of. Try not to beat yourself up about your reactions here. The point is that after you got hit by the car and lost your leg you didn't just give up and lay down, you're up and looking for help and that tells me that you're way stronger than even you think you are. Just give yourself some time and deal with what comes up. If I were in your position I might try to seek out a counselor who specifically deals with the grief of loss, doesn't have to be a long term thing, just until you get things straightened out. I'm not gonna come across with any feel-good bullshit here, I imagine you're gonna have to grit your teeth for a while but my impression is that you're more than tough enough to get through this.

Don't wait, do.

Don't endure, experience.

Life is transient, ephemeral, and fleeting. There are some things you can do and some things you can't. Focus on the former unless/until you can change the latter.

If you just need to get out of your own head for a while, the internet is the black-hole of time sinks. Become an expert on the design of Mayan ruins, watch a youtube lecture series on Immanuel Kant, or check out Silver Age Marvel comics...or if that shit isn't interesting, do something else.
