I was wondering what some of you other dudeists favorite movie ( besides the big lebowki ) mine would have to be fear and loathing in Las Vegas it a great movie and it based off a trip hunter s Thompson had with his attorney to Las Vegas while covering ( for the Rolling Stones magazine ) the mint 500

Heat. Great ensemble cast. Simple enough story, but the kind of film that I can really appreciate more each time I watch it. It goes beyond the cop chasing criminal plot, and the depth of the various relationships between the characters is seen more clearly each time.

Masked Dude

One of my favorites is La Cité des Enfants Perdus (City of Lost Children). The English translation (subtitles and dubbed) is a bit off, but it's not so far off the story is screwed up.

And Ron Perlman has a funny accent in French. :)

It's a dark story, reminiscent of Dark City, which came out after.

It's impossible.
I like so many and so many various types.
I could assemble a best of but I just know it would be incomplete at best.
I have a lot of guilty pleasures.
I watched "The life and times of judge roy bean" last night. Directed by John Huston.
A guilty pleasure.

That's the one about the drummer?
I'll need to check that out.
I'm sure my special lady friend would like that also.
She is a music school grad and has stories about nightmare teachers.

Ya, it's really well done.  Personally, the best movie I've seen in 5 years.

I'm a man of a certain age and disposition. Your mileage will vary but here's what I have in my DVD collection. Yes, it's sparse.

Fight Club  -  Like Bikerdude, I am a well-known Walterist. This speaks to me.

Office Space   - Prototypical dudeist response to the modern condition. Also, not bad career advice. I'm not even kidding here.

Pulp Fiction    - The anti-chronological presentation, voluminous archaic/modern references, and fluid dialogue are just perfect. The frame of things "is" disjointed.

Tombstone   -  Highly quotable...not all that dudely perhaps. But Doc does resign himself to destiny with a aplomb.

The Ethics of Aristotle   - My mom gave it to me. I think she got it at a yard sale. Not bad, though. It's a multi-volume summary course put out by the university of somewhere.

Star Wars Trilogy  -  The "first" three (i.e., Luke et al. save the galaxy). Good flicks. Well, at least until Ewok central. I like 'em.

Yeah, Office Space is a good pick. It's a good one to go back to after a rough week at the office.
