Your top burger joints or recipes?

A smarter feller than myself once said "Those are good burgers, Dude.".

So I feel inclined to ask about your favorite: Burger Recipes, Local Burger Joints, Burger Chains, What have you.

Five Guys is great. Burger King and McDonald's are classics. Hwy 55 is good, too. There is a small drive in place near where I live called El's. Those are good burgers, but you never know how much you are paying til' they bring you the food. Ill eat anywhere that sells bacon cheeseburgers, man. Those are the best

In this part of southern California (Los Angeles and Orange counties) McDonald's has gone down the shitter; they don't even grill the burgers on the premises any more, they just warm up pre-cooked patties and throw 'em on a bun that tastes vaguely similar to white bread.  Horrible.  I've never been a big fan of Burger King's food, but I have to admit they're consistent in the way McDonald's used to be--no matter which location you eat at, the food tastes the same.

Five Guys has only been here in California for about four years.  They've been touted as the main competition to In-N-Out, but the burgers are so different that it's difficult, if not impossible, to compare them.  In-N-Out burgers are very good because they use fresh ingredients that are refrigerated but never frozen, and they're also consistent like Burger King and the way McDonald's used to be--they have their "formula", and they stick to it.  But Five Guys burgers, as you probably know, are more like a "backyard barbecue" burger than a "chain" burger, and I think that gives them a slight edge.  I don't prefer one over the other, it simply depends on whether I want an In-N-Out burger or a Five Guys burger at that moment.

Similar to Five Guys is a chain called The Habit (https://www.habitburger.com/).  Fresh ingredients, and much like a "backyard barbecue" burger.  But, like In-N-Out, they're primarily a California chain with a handful of locations in Arizona, Utah, New Jersey, Florida, and Nevada.

I don't really have any recipes because I hate to cook, but when we do make burgers we mix an egg or two (depending on how many burgers we're making), crushed saltine crackers, some diced Bermuda onions (the red/purple ones), a little salt and pepper, and a buttload of shredded cheese into the ground beef before forming them into patties.  The egg helps to hold the burgers together, and the grease from the cheese adds flavor and helps to keep the burgers juicy; the rest is for flavor.  Nothing fancy, but they sure taste good!

Yes McDonalds has started to walk the line that constitutes food.
The frys have even become weird. I suspect that they are not %100 potato. Some processed goo formed into fry like things.

Of all the fast food joints I find that Wendy's most resembles actual food.
I actually prefer cooking my own burgers on the charcoal grill.
We have five guys but I find them very expensive for what you get.

I like that grilled flavor in my burgers. Ironically, there's a Bowling Alley in the next town over from me (West Frankfort IL for those stalking nihilists among us) that has some of the best burgers around.

Also I'm a sucker for DQ burgers, and Backyard Burgers.
