Been trying to get phone and internet to our camp. Once we have broadband I can work from there which would be very very Dude. Being able to sit out on the porch and do my Gig.
Take the occasional dip in the lake, play guitar, smoke a cigar etc etc. Really will feed my inner Dude.
Now the first issue is that the  "address" is not a real address. That is to say that the roads are not real town or county roads. They are private roads so when we tried to set up service that threw them into turmoil. They said they couldn't find the location on mapping software so they would need to send me a form that I would have to fill out and have notarized.
Ok fine.
So when they sent to forum it was addressed to a different name than mine at our address.
Called them they said not to worry just fill it out and get it notarized.
Did that and faxed it to them.
Wife called up with the account number they had supplied and they never heard of us.
Eventually we mentioned that our neighbor at camp had the same service with them.
That helped. They were able to locate us based on their location which they understood.
So they set up an install date yesterday.
The wife drove the 40 miles to camp to wait for the tech. No show! She waited and extra 2 hours past the window.
She drove 40 miles back home to pick up the kids and called the company.
They said the next available date would be in 2 weeks unless she could drive back up last night and the tech would be there by 7 pm.
She took our 6 year old with her and drove back up.
Well guess what. No show. She sat there till 8pm.
Thing is the company is the only game in town. No other options.
I'm really trying to keep my Dude. But I'm going full Walter real quick.

I'd be fine with pure caveman but I got shit to do.
It turned out ok.
I caught one of the guys on a telephone pole and offered to pay if he'd come over and hook us up.
Turns out he's good friends with my Brother in law so we're good.
Keeping my Dude worked out in the end.
