Mellow but sad dude living with ultra crabby brother

I share my home with my brother. I drive him nuts. He's angry a lot! It is so hard to just be mellow. He puts down uptight people but he is very tightly wound. It's hard to just be me around him. He can't afford to move out yet. I am so tired and depressed at being yelled at and put down so much.
