Well for all intents and purposes.
Tim Horton's will be owned and operated by Burger King.
The assimilation is complete.

Ya, we bend over too easy.  Just like when we sold the Hudson's Bay Company to some off-shore company.  THAT is our fucking history man...  It's like we don't have enough pride in our identity.  Don't get me started on the RCMP wearing turbans...

Resistance is futile?

No, it's almost like - "Come get us!".  Pisses me off.

I can imagine it would.
I can't think of just about anything more iconic than Tim's.
What's next?
Pizza hut to buy East Side Mario's?
Walmart to buy Canadian Tire?
Is there no end?
You all might as well just claim statehood. At least you'd get a vote. As futile as that is.

This thread is confusing to me... How is Burger King MERGING (with an 11b influx of capital to secure it) with a donut shop in Canada (while rumors run rampant they will relocate there to avoid US taxes, and their main stockholder is brazillian) have anything to do with the U.S. invading Canada? Everything I have read on this is about creating a GLOBAL brand....

Enlighten me, please, because I'm clearing missing it.

Abide.
Synonyms: observe, act in accordance with, accept, respect, endure, tolerate, bear, continue, remain, persist, stay
Archaic: Live

It's that Timmy's is a Canadian icon being bought by an American icon.  The purchase was clearly ONLY to avoid American taxes by headquartering in Canada.
