Join Dennis Prager of Prager University as he gives a lucid and knowledgable synopsis of the Middle East conflict.

Although his explanation is based on historical fact, these facts are becoming murkier and murkier as the Moslem countries of the Middle East attempt to rewrite them.

Dennis Prager asks an intriguing question. Why can?t the one Jewish state in the world be allowed to exist? Who is he in essence asking? The Arab nations that surround Israel? America? The UN? When observing the behavior of the Moslem nations and then the behavior of the Jewish nation you begin to wonder why the world tends to support the Moslem stand on this extremely straightforward issue.

While relatively sensible in other aspects, Prager is a bit of a Israel-interventionist-whore. Which is, you know, cool and everything, but not really my schtick. I can't fault his stats or the graph, though. And, really, the issue seems settled by the fact Israel won a war or two. Palestinians seem to want to wage another one to regain the land without actually doing it.

Anyway, Prager is the guy who got his ass handed to him by asking Chris Hitchens: all things being equal, would he be comforted or alarmed if running into a group of people leaving a church/synagogue/mosque/etc. at dusk on an otherwise empty street. Hitchens responded that he had been in just that situation and - limiting himself only to the Bs - found it entirely disconcerting in Beirut, Bombay, and like four other cities I'm too drunk to recall. Anyway, it was pretty persuasive.
