In Australia we have these things called form one lane mergers its where two lanes merge to one,

and i shit you not this is a problem unique to the ACT in Australia  the rest of the country seems to get the idea and doesnt behave in the dangerous way drivers here do,

Today alone i have been cut off in them 3 times (where people behind me have sped up to basically force me off the road... all to get in front of me usually for no gain ie getting stuck behind of the car i am stuck behind or simply to turn off the road right after getting in front of me) and its fucking pointless,

1 its illegal , they should give way to the car in front not speed up to try and get in front and you can get charged for dangerous driving for doing it.

2 its dangerous as hell i drive a large 4x4 you are NOT going to be better off in a collision with my truck although i have on more than one occasion pulled OFF the road onto pavement or dirt to avoid these fuck heads i will one day ramm one of the fuckers off the road and its not going to be pretty.

3 its just fucking disrespectful it shows no regard for my safety or for the safety of other drivers / road users

just had to get that out of my system,
in short ACT (canberran) drivers human fucking paraquats.

We have traffic circles.
It amazes me how people don't understand how to use them. If there are 2 lanes then the outside lane MUST take the next exit. Because if they don't and the inside lane does then it's a t-bone.
This is actually common sense. But people f it up all the time. When I'm on the bike this is a major issue and a couple years ago it led to me ripping somebodies side-view off the car when they cut me off and nearly drove into me.
We pulled into a parking lot and he said he was calling the cops. I told him he could use my cell phone. He called the cops which (happily) ended in him getting a ticket and me riding off.
I didn't admit to ripping his mirror off out of anger rather just defensively fending off the car, which is a fine line. He admitted to not going straight while in the outside lane.
Sometimes justice prevails. It's about drawing a line. "Across this line ......ah ah".

Out here we are all his children

In holland they tend to split a single lane into 2 at lights, then merge them again afterwards. There's always some tit that will try and race ahead to get in fron

Roundabouts are the flavor of the month here. I generally like them, but as you point out, it only takes one person to set things afire. Usually it's a 90 year old man/woman whose fundamental understanding of the universe is shaken to the core by a circular intersection and no lights.

The look in their eyes - it's like someone just asked them, "Do odorless green ideas sleep furiously?"
