It's all a matter of how heavily you want to drink and how heavily you're capable of drinking. If you're an experienced drunk, you'll know your limitations. If you aren't and you don't, then don't try to get creative with it - you'll just end up embarrassing yourself, making a mess, and possibly getting arrested.

If you're planning on over-indulging from the get-go, stick with one or the other.

If you can't handle your sauce, stick with one or the other.

If you can handle your sauce AND you're not going to over-indulge, drink what you want. It's a free country, at least where I live.
