Will we ever detect other universes?

Is there anything outside our Universe? Many physicists think it's possible, says Marcus Woo, but could we one day know for sure?

We think of our Universe as everything there ever was, is, and will be. But according to some researchers, there might not just be many universes, but an infinite number of them. This notion of multiple universes - sometimes dubbed the multiverse for short - isn't some crazy idea concocted by bored physicists.

That rug really tied the universe together - http://www.bbc.com/future/story/20140409-will-we-detect-other-universes

Not surprising. I have it on good authority there is a mini-black hole hovering just outside Faversham. The Queen can't have locals reading articles about quantum foam and alternate universes with the end of days germinating in the English countryside.

More to the point, this multiverse thing is interesting as hell. I downloaded a new audio book by Michio Kaku a couple weeks ago but haven't had a chance to listen yet. Damn gainful employment getting in the way of quasi-scientific/philosophical ruminations...

Wait, a page from the BBC.com isn't available in the UK?

That's...hilarious.

So instead of implementing a system where they simply block their ads for tax-paying UK residents, they block all of the content instead? Did I wander into the middle of a movie?

This is the same group of people who recently got done by the government auditor for wasting £100mil on a duff ICT project.
