So I am a Ordained Dudeist in Texas and I have been asked to do two marriages in the next two months. So my question is to those of you who have performed one; how did you go about it? I just need a little help on where to start. Like, should I write my own speeches? I want to for sure but I guess I also need to talk to the couple to get their input as well. I just want to kind of get an idea of what I am looking at. If anyone can help provide me with some tips or some pointers they will be greatly appreciated! This is my first one and I want it to be Dude Worthy

@AbidingofHalfandHalf - it all depends on what the couple themselves are really looking for. Are they wanting a Dudeist ceremony?

If so, here is a great one here:
http://dudeism.com/smf/wedding-ceremonies/a-slightly-more-traditional-dudeist-wedding-ceremony/

What you will want to do is to create a program based off of the ceremony and have the bride look at it. You should encourage her to make it "hers" by changing things up she doesn't like and adding things that she does like. Remember, this day is all about the couple and your role is to be a witness to the State, and that's really it. You're there to guide them as they marry each other.

My other suggestion is to keep mindful of the "tone". At the end of the day, nobody is going to remember what you said - they'll only remember how beautiful the bride looked and how the "tone" of the wedding was.

Oh yeah, and make sure you at least memorize the first and last part of the ceremony. And practice, practice, practice.......
