So, although there is a soundtrack to the big lebowski, i'd like to make a list of all songs that bring the dude-feeling...

1. Santana - Oye Como Va ( was in the film, but not in the soundtrack )
2. Creedence Clearwater Revival - I heard it through the grape vine ( mentioned in the film, but not in the soundtrack )
3. Creedence Clearwater Revival - Chooglin' (see above )
4. Bob Dylan - Watch the river flow ( describes the ultimate dude-attitude for me )
5. Beatles - Norweigan Wood ( i think the dude wouldn't like it, but i do and it makes me really comfortable )
6. Bob Marley - Jah live ( it's reggea, y know... )
7. Jimmy Witherspoon - Ain't nobodys business ( what i do ) ( just the name... )

That's all for now, please add as much as you want to...
Mein Name ist Karl. Ich bin Experte.

Let us not forget:

Branded Theme Song (great fan here. All but one man died? There at Bitter Creek?)

Lujon

Duderonomy

My Mood Swings - Elvis Costello (dude is listening to it on his headphones while in the doctor's office for his thorough exam)

Her Eyes Are A Blue Million Miles - Captain Beefheart (dude listening on radio at home while checking messages)

Just Dropped In (To see what condition my condition was in) - Kenny Rogers - (flashback after getting punched by Maude's latino looking thug)

-Jack Handy

Andrea D.

Bob Dylan "The man in me" the song in the beginning of the movie, a great great beginning, makes me smile, makes me happy.
Elvis Costello "My mood swings" i love to see the dude's dance.
and Lujon because i like Henry Mancini. :)
Dime Sandra.¡¡Que ridiculo!!

JC

Otis Redding - Sitting on the Dock of the Bay
John Denver - Sunshine on My Shoulders

ZenDudeist

Lots of Dean Martin songs work well, if you're into that kinda thing... Heck, he even played a guy named Dude in the movie Rio Bravo...

These songs especially get me in a very Dude-ish mood.

Bummin' Around - Dino
Gentle on my Mind - Dino
Houstin - Dino
King of the Road - Dino
Raindrops Keep Fallin on my Head - Dino

I know there are more popular versions of the last two, but Dino's relaxed vocal style always makes me choose him over most any other vocalist for that style of music.

El Duderino

Nirvana Unplugged in New York. Any song from that album.

Oasis - Married With Children

Lynyrd Skynyrd - Freebird. Has to be a Dude song.
Not on the rug, man...

CSNY...

Crosby Stills Nash & Young - Almost Cut My Hair

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=4zdB1zyjI48

Almost cut my hair
It happened just the other day
It's gettin kinda long
I coulda said it wasn't in my way
But I didn't and I wonder why
I feel like letting my freak flag fly
Cause I feel like I owe it to someone

Must be because I had the flu' for Christmas
And I'm not feeling up to par
It increases my paranoia
Like looking at my mirror and seeing a police car
But I'm not giving in an inch to fear
Cause I missed myself this year
I feel like I owe it to someone

When I finally get myself together
I'm going to get down in that sunny southern weather
And I find a place inside to laugh
Separate the wheat from the chaff
I feel like I owe it to someone

I'll put in with:

Smokey Factory Blues- Steppenwolf

I'm Your Captain- Grand Funk Railroad

Green River- C.C.R.

I'm sure I can tink of a few more, but what's the hurry?
At least I'm housebroken.

Hi, what about good old Stephen Stills and Manassas? It makes me feel more "Dude" when I feel stressed.. Greetings

For some reason I've been revisiting Savoy Brown lately.
It just sounds so great to me all over again.

Monterey Pop 67 would probably be on the Dudes short list.
It's a time warp. Some of it I just can't take but kindly they included song links.
It was among other things the US premier of Jimmy Hendrix. Widely regarded as the genesis of Woodstock.
