I'm really not sure what I think about this.

On the one hand we've all heard the old adage "honesty is the best policy". I'm sure she can go to sleep nights knowing that she's not going to be arrested for stealing a found item, which is what the law would dictate.

On the other hand I kinda question the "honesty" policy when it comes to an establishment that gets richer by exploiting the gambling addictions of certain people without even a tinge of conscience entering into the debate. How many poor buffoons have gambled away the house payment or the kids' college funds (I know a couple of chowderheads that have done this) and the casino just sits back and lets the electronic counters total up their daily take.

Of course there's the plight of the armored car drivers. Does that $224K get taken out of their asses? Maybe that's part of what needs to be considered.

Opinions from my Dudeist brethren/sisteren about this? What would you do in her place?

Honesty is a very dude-like quality. No one is perfect at it, I'm not, I make mistakes here and there, but I believe that honesty should be a basic tenant of Dudeism.

That's just like my honest opinion, man.

cckeiser

It's just like my opinion man, but I think that is covered in...."Don't be a Dick!".
$224K dude. The least they could do is give her 20 grand and a Beamer!

And a beeper! But during league play.

Man I dunno Dude, that's a tough one. I mean, on one hand it's not like the money was some old widows inheritance in which she needs to live on, but simply a bit of money from a corporate machine that in a way robs people daily. I'd have a hard time turning it in, but I'd also have a hard time sleeping soundly if I kept it.

Like in movies where someone finds drug money or whatever and keeps it... my thought is someone somewhere is really missing that money and will be looking for it.

In this case it'd prolly bring about more problems than good.
"Is this a... what day is this???"

Yeah, the dude might have had some goons at his door who were obviously not a golfer!

Bullett00th

that's easy, big money means big trouble, if this money comes out of nowhere.

giving it in is the best way to ensure security, show honesty and maybe getting a little bonus for it (the casino are a-holes if they didn't give her at least a tiny portion of that sum)

I recently started thinking about how to start a career as a professional player. I started thinking about it when I discovered Towerbet. This is an amazing opportunity not just to play, but to take a break from the routine. This is a real chance to hit the jackpot. I think my chances are pretty good. I'm sure you should try this site.

BikerDude

My point, Dude, is why should we settle for twenty grand when we can keep the entire million.
Am I wrong?

Quantum Shhhhart

i'd keep 50 grand & turn in the rest.. tell them it was blowing in the wind, and i gathered what I could...

everyone wins.
calm the muddy waters & you will see into its depths.

I wanna join.

BikerDude

I'd keep it all.
Duh!
Anybody that has 224 grand to misplace doesn't need it as much as I do.
And if it is Casino money I wouldn't have a millisecond of second thought about it.
As far as the Armored Car drivers go...
I'd have to say that losing 224K would qualify as gross negligence and maybe Armored Car driver is not really the best use of their skills.
Or lack there of.
The universe has spoken.
That's like the doctor who amputates the wrong limb kind of bad.
No one should cover up that kind of bad.
