I hate it when the fucking government lies through it's teeth trying to get people to believe their piles of pure bullshit.

Example;

The White Website is still up and running ( see - http://whitehouse.gov ) BUT, NASA's website is claiming to be down AND posting this bullshit...

http://nasa.gov/    ...redirects to...    http://notice.usa.gov/

Are you you telling me that an agency of the federal government with a mufti-billion dollar budget who can put space shuttles in space, put a dude on the moon, run JPL, launch satellites, put probes on fucking Mars, and maintain a telescope in orbit around earth that can see 13.5 BILLION light years away, and is STILL controlling the International Space Station, can't keep a small low tech website up and running? BULLSHIT!!

But, the Army's website is still up; gotta keep the new recruits coming in! http://www.goarmy.com/

Reason for shutting down NASA's website? Simple; piss off the public and scare the public who will think the fed is falling apart and they'll pressure Congress to pass a budget.

I'm sorry; I haven't see the Navy park their boats, or the Air Force land all its jets sending everyone home, and I don't see troops being sent home from Iraq, OR, all of our Embassies being closed and the staff sent home.

BUT, they shut down a small 500 dollar a month cheap website at http://nasa.gov/

BULLSHIT!!!

Question; will Obama get paid this week, and did they shut down his cell phone and his porno websites accounts?  FUCK NO!

I'm sure the guys working (or more correctly not working) there wanted it to not be available.
I admit that I'm always tickled pink when a government agency ends a contract and turns over a project to internal support and it goes to crap (usually).
