As the author of the uncompromised Port Huron Statement (which calls for direct, participatory democracy), would the Dude still vote now that his career in radical politics has slowed down?

The whole concept abates.

always abides

the dude is too busy not doing anything to pay attention to politics anymore, he saw his revolution didn't really change anything and is perhaps apathetic towards politics now

I don't think he would just say 'fuck it' and stay home.  I think he would go vote.  He has an opinion man.

besides, what else is he going to do today, besides make sure his mind is limber (before voting I'm sure)

At the very least I could imagine Walter badgering the Dude to vote until he finally went to the polls.

"I had friends who died face down in the muck so you could cast your ballot, Dude...."

Well, Dude, we just don't know.

Walter also has some progressive sensitivities ("Asian American, please"), so maybe he could bring himself to vote for Obama...especially since Obama's all about going into Afghanistan.

he could be pretty upset with america's unchecked aggression towards iraq this time around

The Dude clearly states he's a pacificist..like Smokey, man, he's fragile, just wants to be left alone
He would have paid the four dollars for the oil..no need to pay four dollars and watch four thousand plus buddies die face down in the muck.
Lotta ins lotta outs
He realized his political career was slowing down, "politicians..buncha' assholes"
...all the Dude ever wanted was his rug...Thunk(face on table)

I think that The Dude probably would want to vote, but unless Walter did badger him to go, probably would be too stoned to remember that it was, in fact, election day.  But his intent would be to vote.

Yeah uh well basically man elections are just like your opinion man, if you will.
Seriously though a message to all fellow Dudes, dudettes & Lebowskists in general if you really want to understand that the system we live under is a fake bullshit system & that there is an alternative better society to live in where we all really could `Just Take It Easy` forever. Go to www.zeitgeistmovie.com & watch the Zeitgeist Addendum movie & just open your minds man. Peace to you all & better Barrack than Bush anyday, later.
