I don't know if you dudes have ever heard of Mike Malloy. He is an Ultra-Liberal about as far left as it's possible to go without falling off the edge of the planet type radio commentator. When the O-man was running in '08 he was on fire about the right and all the bullshit they were pulling during the campaign. Therefore, about a year or so ago I was surprised to hear him, Mike Malloy, say that in his opinion the O-man was a war criminal and should be tried as such.

I'm not sure about the whole "birther" thing. I haven't researched it enough to have a solid opinion and I don't like to argue politics when I don't think I have enough info to back up what I'm saying. So I'm staying out of that fight. I neither negate nor support any position with regard to whether he was born in the USA.

The way I see the political scene here, though, is that he is just the latest in a long line of puppets intent on taking down the middle class financially. I actually think that this started back in the days of LBJ and our ramped up involvement in Nam. It's a classic case of redistribution of wealth from the middle class up to the rich. Like Lenin said, "you look for the person who will benefit and.....uh, uh". So who benefited? The people Eisenhower referred to as the military/industrial complex, that's who. The point is to concentrate the wealth at the top of the ladder and bring the rest of us into subservience. The rest is all theatre! Just keep watching the shiny object, then you'll be too busy to see what's really going on.

When I think back to the 50s and 60s, which is what I think of when I think of the good old days, we didn't rely on the system of justice to sort out all our shit. If one were to be sufficiently aggrieved by the conduct of another one simply went and punched the other in the mouth. No delays for discovery or decisions to overturn on appeal. We just got 'er done. Now almost everyone is afforded protection by the law for just about anything they do, particularly our DC people. Martha Stewart gets 2 years for insider trading but the boys and girls in DC wrote that law in such a way as to exempt themselves. A regular worker has to toil 20 years for a pension but a DC rep only has to serve a single 2 year term and he/she's got it locked. Then they bitch about people who do a 20 and out and start talking "pension reform is the only thing that will save us".

There's a story I heard about people who come into the system vowing change. They get shown footage of something like the Kennedy thing or the Wellstone thing, like what really happened. Then they are asked very simply if they have any questions about their agenda.

I guess what my point is is that the game is rigged dudes. It's just becoming more visible. The press, for the most part, is just the propaganda arm of the "G", they put out what they are told and they keep us watching the shiny object. And the shiny object is whatever keeps us from seeing the truth. It's a sound byte. The sad thing is that we, as a nation, have fallen for it. I think we're fucked.

Out of respect for Forumdudes request I'm not going to discuss politics anymore because he's right man, everybody is going to see, MOST, issues differently and even an attempt at discussing it in a civilized manner generally leads to somebody getting offended or rubbed the wrong way and then the petty and childish antics begin :( and nobody wants that right 8)

I will however, most certainly agree with you about how people just run to the law or big brother nowadays instead of being able to handle a situation for themselves, but perhaps some people just went to far or something. And government  employees of any kind, no matter title, position or affiliation, should not get a salary and all these benefits AFTER they're job is over, your job is over so go back to work like everyone else; except you know REASONABLE pensions or retirement or whatnot, those are cool man, you gotta earn those after a long period of loyal and very exhausting work lol :)

And yes man, the media definitely is a big part of the problem too. I could be wrong here but I believe that if the mass media didn't exploit all of these tragedies then they probably wouldn't happen nearly as often.

They're just like giving all the sad, angry, depressed, confused people, and the just plain psychotic ones too, ideas of what to do man. They're probably just like sitting there man, sitting there with all these undudely things just totally messing with their mind right, then they see all the attention that these people get from the mass media with their horrific acts. They want that attention right, attention feels good man, and if they can hurt "the people who 'wronged' them" in the process; well dang man, they just take that idea and run with it, they might just copy somebody else or come up with some new variation or something. Now I'll grant you that in some cases these people may have been likely to commit some other sort of horrible crime anyways but who really knows. Then again "Some people just want to watch the world burn" so I guess, really,  bad shits going to happen no matter what we do :(

I'm not saying that these atrocities don't deserve media recognition, I just believe that if the mass media did it a little less "in your face" or what have you and with a little more respect, that such tragedies wouldn't happen quite so often. Hell though, maybe they'd just happen more then but we just wouldn't know it, who knows right, it's all just speculation man.

As for me, I shall Take it easy and Abide 8)
