;D So dudes (both male and female), is there a "sick Cynthia thing" in your past you want to rant about? Someone you had to give the boot to so life could go on, man? Someone you would label "THAT FUCKIN' BITCH (or BASTARD)!" ? Anyone who MARKED IT ZERO!!

I thought the 'sick Cynthia thing', rather than being someone you would mark zero, meant a person that you were still attached to when they had moved on.

Fuckin' eh, sure could be. But also perhaps someone who you didn't jive with too.

I think a great lesson in THE SICK CYNTHIA THING is not to take on your partner's 'religion'.

I have a fantastic shot of me wearing a turban, back in the days when I lived with a Sikh chick - I look like the world's biggest prick.

Judd Dude

I got a couple ex's that I shudder to think about... That said I really don't want them knowing a thing about my present life. Nothing against them- I hope they are happy, but I feel it's just in poor taste to put that in someone's face no matter how badly they treated you in the past. That's one of the many things that irks me about so called "social media" like face space and twits 'r' us is people posting this kind of shit. I believe those sites are making people more anti-social than ever. But that's just like my opinion man.
"Is this a... what day is this???"

I've had "problems" with people in the past but I try to remember they did what they felt best at the time.  I don't think anyone sets out to be evil, everyone tries to protect the people and things they love.  Just think of that corn you had for dinner...to a corn stalk you're evil for eating it's children, but in the larger sense the only reason that corn was created in Monsanto's lab is so you could have it's children for dinner!

Life is a never-ending series of wheels within wheels.  If you broaden your vision you start to lose sight of terms such as good and evil, they're tiny footnotes written in vapor on a tiny gear.

I had a sick Cynthia thing going for a while there.  Really serious hangup about a special lady who ended up being not quite as special as I had come to believe.  Went through a lotta gin in the aftermath of that one.  Two small things really hit home and helped me to become more Dudely and get through it.

1:  A quote attributed to Johnny Cash, apparently given as advice to Billy Bob Thornton after he split with Angelina Jolie:  "You're in pain, son.  Just be in it.  Don't fight it.  Write a song with it."

2:  After getting closer and closer to the end of my rope every time someone told me it would be okay, that there were other fish in the sea (fuck you, I want THAT fish, that's the whole issue!), I told it to an old friend I hadn't seen in a few years.  He is a truly Dudely man.  He listened to the whole sad saga, and then he did the thing I needed.  He LAUGHED.  And while laughing, he said, "Man, that sucks."

Suddenly I realized why everyone trying to make me feel better had been so annoying:  They couldn't possibly do it, and their words were meaningless.  I didn't need advice on dealing with this shit, I just needed someone to connect with me and agree that yes, it was in fact shit.  And then laugh about it.  It put the whole human comedy in sudden perspective.  I'm eternally grateful to that guy.  That Dude.  It was a turning point for me.  I've been a little more Dudely ever since.

Masked Dude

My "Cynthia" had to go. Left her because her panties had a bad habit of staying on. Our apartment was a little too close to her ex boyfriends and girlfriends. She came back for me a year later but I let her in no uncertain terms that would not happen again. After her, had girlfriends but none lasted. Now I just figure the hell with relationships. No reason to keep jumping off the cliff and thinking I'll fly!

Caesar dude

Hey masked Dude.....

That's the dudely way....I'd been around....got married...divorced...then a long relationship with a beautiful kid...done it all been everywhere with all that relationship shit! Fuck it!

So I decried it, in fact I went a little bit further! I stated to all and sundry that no matter what woman I went with and no matter what I felt for her I would NEVER be a fool again. Any woman that went out with me would have to live by my own rules and if there was just one argument...just one raised voice...just one bit of discontent...warranted or not...I'd dump her!! Flat!

And that worked for quite a while. I was doing well, I was living life my way and doing what I wanted to do and having fun. And I must say was being very dudely, the ladies knew what I was on about and I was straight up with them from the start and it was a pretty cool time.

Then this amazing girl walked in...it wasn't as if I didn't know what I'd said....I just forgot it....I seriously didn't want to play by those rules any more and I definitely didn't want her to play those rules, she was kind of everything I'd ever been looking for all my life. Everything. And we flew....and we flew....and she crashed but I'm still flying mate.

I still see her every day and I love her as much as she loves me.

Never say never my friend.
