Careful, man; there's a beverage here!

Is new York's supersize soda ban a civil rights issue?

New York City's ban on large-size sodas and other sugary drinks is being challenged by African American and Hispanic groups. How did cola become a civil rights issue?

When Martin Luther King told crowds of idealistic demonstrators he had a dream, it's unlikely that the right to sell soft beverages greater than 16oz (0.5 litre) was part of his vision. But his heirs in the US minority civil rights movement have taken up opposition to a ban on supersize sodas as their latest crusade.

Un- fuckin-believable man! Omni-present morbid obesity is part of what defines America as the generous, unrestained country that laughs in the face of up-tight, pencil necked, twig-legged European wimps, counting each single fucking calorie in some self-obsessed, anorexic, thinner-than-thou campaign to sap every suggary, lard-laced inch of pleasure out of life so that they can live their miserable, boney little lives for twenty years longer rattling around some old-peoples home complaining that the heating isn't on high enough because of a total lack of substance between skin and bone.

Make mine a super-sized quadruple whopper with extra everything and a 64 oz double gulp, you miserable, paternalistic weasels

Banning a Big-Gulp seemed a bit overkill to me. Nothing I'm gonna rant too much about though, mainly because I'm too busy shaking my head in confusion. Yep, we are a pretty fat country. Is a ban on giant sodas going to fix that? I highly doubt it. We should have the ability to choose for ourselves just how gluttonous we wish to be on a given day though.

I'm just glad that the soda itself is still legal. Sure, you can still get your soda, just not a vat of it, haha. If they'd actually banned the drink, then we'd be in trouble. If people get the idea that they can outright BAN whatever is "bad" for us to consume, then it's gonna be one eye-rolling session after another. After all, this is America! Home of the state fairs where you can get deep-fried butter on a stick! Is it healthy? Not a chance l-) And that's why some people like it. If somebody else doesn't like it, then they don't have to eat it. With all these lousy health-food crusaders, it makes me worry about people trying to get rid of our special places of eating where we can throw calories to the wind in a glorious absence of "healthy eating." Better start hoarding your bacon, Dudes

Banning Super Sized soda's was the most egregious over reach on the part of Government I've ever seen.
I can see taking soda from schools. But this (and a smoking Ban in Bars) is over the fucking line!

How about a tanker truck to park in Time Square and give away buckets of Pepsi!
