What a fantastic list how was it compiled? (did I miss that on the website?)

even included some of my all time favourites, Silent Running, Dark Star, Blade Runner, The Day the Earth Stood Still (the original unadulterated draft), West World, Blackhole, even including some Star Trek and Star wars (but not all of either).

Like any of these things they are never going to be exactly right for personal taste (omissions and additions you don't agree with), but a very very good list.

My main problem is that this type of list always throws up something I haven't seen before, I got eight films that i don't already own and that I want to follow up, especially Ikarie XB-1.

Solaris was a great flick! A bit slow in some sections, but fascinating. After watching the American "re-make," I had trouble getting into the Russian version, seemed a bit "communist corny" to me.

Luckily I did it the other way round (Russian original first) I think the US version lost a lot of that essential Russian angst, the original was a hell of a lot more sadder.
