I think we are losing a post here and there, they seem to be getting lost or not showing up after submitting. I myself have dabbled in a couple of lost posts. Might be something in the new forum code for the site that is not holding on to them?

At the risk of getting technical don't they feed into a database to be presented by the forum as posts?

(It's the way I would do it)

If they are still in the data table they may be retrievable.

Unless of course they are stuff we (as admins) have removed?

Whats the database behind this forum?

I have not had to delete any spam in a while. When we changed over to this new format and Oliver added the phone app thingee we got hit pretty hard, but Oliver activated a spam blocker or something and the boards been running like a Swiss fucking watch!

What kind of posts are missing DB?
I do log in and run maintenance a few times a day. I optimize the forum, recount the stats, fix any errors, and empty the error log when it gets too large.
The error has log been running about 2000 errors a day....down from the 11,000 a day from the old forum.
Not sure if any of my house cleaning affected the forum posts or not. 8)

Yeah, the spam blocker is working great! What kind of posts are missing, I'm not sure. No particular type I am aware of, seems to me a few here and there and random.

Ok. I'm going to do another house cleaning. Let me know if any posts vanish! 8)

Will do.

I think it has something to do with one of the spam plugins i installed - in the old forum a list of topics held in moderation by the spam blocker would allow you to go through and pick out the good ones. but now i can't find any way to do that. i've disabled it for now. hopefully the other anti spam techniques will keep things unspammy enough.
I'll tell you what I'm blathering about...

OK it's now happening to me as well.

(though my very slight grip on reality may be part of the problem).

I posted some stuff yesterday (I'm am fairly sure), that seems to have disappeared

Now do realise I can be running about thirty to fourty tabs in Firefox at a time. But it seems to me that a number of posts i did yesterday are not there now.

I'll keep a closer eye on things so don't panic yet.
