Well, the State Of Nevada is being a bit undude. I was told at the county clerk's office today that I have to have an affidavit filled out by a church officer and we have to conduct meetings in a physical location within the state of Nevada. Are there any dudes here that currently gather that might be able to help me out?

Of course, as I write this, I realize that I may be able to turn my house into our "church" and have a family member become the "official". Of course, the paperwork does say "I am duly authorized by ___ to complete and submit this affidavit." I hope the actual Dudeist officials would be ok with that. Any thoughts? Anybody official I should be contacting about this?

Hey Biker Mage, contact the head office at www.dudeism.com/contact and we'll try to help you out. Nevada can be problematic. They have a marriage industry there that they want to protect.
I'll tell you what I'm blathering about...

This aggression will not stand, man!!

Hey BikerMage, welcome to dudetopia and our pee free rug, dude! Good to have you here, mang. Grab a lane, bar's over there.

I sent out an email a week ago, still no response. Looks like the groom-to-be might be on board as the "officer" on the paperwork. At this point, I think it might be the easiest route to have him and my home on the documents. Plus, I could establish myself to help out other Nevada dudes.

hey biker mage
did you send us an email about this? it might have gotten lost in the shuffle. please try again? www.dudeism.com/contact. sorry!
I'll tell you what I'm blathering about...

Sent another email on the 18th, no news on that front. Brother-in-law (groom-to-be) finally saw the movie, got himself ordained, and paperwork is in the mail. Even after we get our stuff done at the clerk's office, it's going to take about a month for the background check to go through, so I'm powering though. Still hoping the home office doesn't have a problem with using my home address and him as the official.

hey bikermage, just found your email in my spam folder. i just replied. surprised that nevada is such a problem, merits some inquiry and rumination. sorry for the hassle.

Just got back from the county clerk's office, paperwork is in. It should be about 2-3 weeks before I get my stuff back, I will try to keep everyone here informed of progress.

This aggression from the fine state of Nevada will not stand, man! Yeah, BikerMage; keep us informed. Holy dude, man; Nevada has fucking everyone marrying people, even Elvis impersonators marrying people; why not a Dudeist priest?!!

BikerMage

Dudes, it is done. I now have a permanent license to perform weddings in the state of Nevada! No trouble once I handed in complete paperwork, few weeks for the background check, good to go. If any Nevada dudes need help getting their license or want a Dudeist wedding (Reno area please), get in touch.

Bikermage, I know this post is older but I am encountering the same problem with Nevada.  If you are still active on the forum can you help me out?

Same here.

Any info about how you pulled it off would be appreciated! I can't find any references to Dudeism in the Secretary of State's database.
