The Dude and Brandt are departing the manse and the scene shows lush green foliage. The view up at the Dude's face is framed by a dead tree.

Is their a literal connection to "NAM" or Donny's impending death, any symbolism, what have you, or another foible like the guy walking on the bluffs at Donny's blow away. Lotta strands running around the old Brandt's head..Anyway it got me thinkin, what's up with that?
