I see a lot of Reverends on this here site, but could we say Dude?

My question is simple,

After becoming an ordained dudeist priest, what's our legal titles, if any? Reverend? Could I refer to myself as Dude Anthony Draper, perhaps? Personally I think that's what it should be :)

I think it's been said elsewhere by somebody that you can basically choose your title.  The letter of good standing refers to you as Reverend probably to make sure the fascists behind the counter don't tell you you're not really ordained.

Just my opinion, though.

Yeah, we recommend that you say Reverend or Minister or Priest just so it doesn't confuse the unlimber-minded. But we don't want to be hard ons about this.
I'll tell you what I'm blathering about...

If you believe you can tell me what to think.
I believe I can tell you where to go.

Has anyone gone on record as a reverend? By this I mean when booking flights or updating their drivers license or what not? Did you get any special treatment after?

That's a really good idea. We should encourage people to do that!

Sounds like stuff the square community would dig; if it gets me a free drink, I'm for it. :D

I don't know if you can get anything added to your license (maybe it varies by state), but I did have some little old ladies calling me "Reverend" after I did a ceremony.  Things got fun when they asked my religion.

I live in the UK, does anyone even know if Dudeism is recognised as a religion here? As in am I like certified to call myself reverend in this country?

I have business cards showing me as Reverend of the Church of the Latter-Day Dude. And on my blog my membership of the Church is prominently displayed. And I asked a question (quite some time ago) about ID cards issued by the Church. It seems that this is in the making and should come one day.

BTW, how does one change the forum status from "Amateurs" to "Dude"?

you can call yourself what you want dude, but the UK does not recognise dudeism as a religion. M5 is the dude clued up on all this as it takes acts of parliament, etc ... i do not think it is illegal to use the title of reverent in government documentation provided you are not trying to pass yourself off as a member of a different "church".

Worldman, you need to make more than 10 posts before the gods of the forum deem you worthy of the title of "Dude". in the meantime, welcome to our community, pull up a rug, smoke a j, and let the good times roll.
