Just stumbled upon this post, and appreciate the question.  I'm not young, I'm middle-aged (42), but I'm gay.  Totally out, and very much a dude as well.  I'm a laid back, mellow guy who lives a total dude life: liveaboard my sailboat, work few hours, drive an ancient beat-up Volvo, enjoy every day and maybe light a J now and then.

You aren't alone, PikaSonic.  Enjoy being young, and most of all - enjoy your fast metabolism while you have it.  Once it's gone...it's gone.

Cheers.

Welcome to our funky and cool beach community, SailorDude, grab a rug and abide, bar's over there.

Thanks for the welcome, DigitalBuddha.

Well I dunno. There just seems to me to be an element of uptightness here.Do people realy not understand what abiding means? I was once in Starkers Naturist Nightclub in London getting pissed and talking to a girl on one side while on the other a guy was getting a blow job from another guy.Once in Cap d'agde I hung out with a couple of gay guys getting pissed and having a laugh.I just can't get my head 'round the apparent issue.Just abide dudes, that's all it is.'Cept for rug pissers.
If you believe you can tell me what to think.
I believe I can tell you where to go.

I don't see an issue, or any uptightness. Just people talking. Or typing, rather. Where's the uptightness or absence of abiding? I can't find it.
I'll tell you what I'm blathering about...

It just seemed to me to be in the original question.Quite singular.Or maybe I have no frame of reference.I'll drink with anybody except those who are vexations to the spirit.

Well, I was jokingly going to suggest that the original poster was being ageist by specifying "young gay dudes". That is unfair to the queezers out there (is that a word? i just made it up. queer+geezer).

It would be nice if we Dudeists could offer our services to officiate at all the new gay marriages on the horizon now that several states have stopped being such reactionaries about homonuptials.

I can see a new publication coming out in the store real soon: "Dude-ictionary: Contributions to the English Language by the Dudely Lama".  ;)

Yeah I mean as I said in my earlier post, I don't consider myself gay, (I don't see the need to label it) but I am open to all people instead of restricting myself to woman, but I lead a totally dudeist lifestyle. I mean, I go to a boarding school near London, so there's a strict regiment about certain things, but considering these are highly religious people I'm dealing with on a daily basis, I do pretty good dressing casually, and being non-agressive when everyone around me is quite the opposite
Keep it simple man, take it easy.

A long while ago I came up with a logical solution to the whole marriage thing.Abolish it.Instead, everyone, regardless of gender has a non religious civil partnership  ceremony, and then, if they choose, they get their union blessed by an amenable priest of their choice.I believe a similar situation exists in some South American countries.
