First timer

Yesterday I officiated my first wedding ceremony. Not a Dudeist wedding per se, just a regular old, vaguely Judeo-Christian, non-denominational kinda thing. I'd been asked by a business associate who found out I was an ordained minister to perform the ceremony at her daughter's wedding.

Some post-game thoughts:

1) The State of Alabama is surprisingly laid back in its process of verifying your credentials.
2) Protestants seem to be more accepting of outsiders than Catholics.
2.1) Let's just not comment on 2, eh? I can't handle the debate at this juncture.
3) Make the couple-to-be the center of attention. It's their day.
4) So long as the ceremony is official and the bride & groom are happy with it, fuck it, dude, let's go bowling.

A friend just found out I'm ordained (never noticed the Certificate on my wall) and asked me to officiate at her wedding.  They haven't set the date yet, so I don't know how long I have to get my robe dry cleaned. 

Anyway, that came as a surprise!

I figured this would be a good first post here.  I've read this board but haven't posted, I stay busy being one of the admins on a tin-hat forum.  I'm one of the voices of reason (people who know me would find that really hard to believe).
