Well that surprised me!

The opening ceremony in my dudely opinion was fucking fantastic.

I think this showed Britain at it's best...quirky, humorous, imaginative and clever.

It showed our inventive nature and our indomitable spirit. Our love for rebellion with a cause and our hardiness through adversity. It gave an insight into what makes Britain great, our music, our ability to take the piss out of ourselves (even the Queen got into the act on that one!) It showed our resilience and resolve and gave an insight into what has made us as a nation who we are and what we stand for.

There was fantastic nod to the inventor of the WWW Tim Berners-Lee who is clearly having a fantastic year being as he was a founding member of the team at CERN.

Danny Boyle who directed the whole thing is surely in line for a peerage in the New Year!

Well done to all who were involved.

Trust me dudes...most of us thought it would be crap!!! ;)

Peace and a happy Olympiad to you all.

It was a dude like party for all. Hail Britannia!

I have mixed feelings about it. I thought the light show using the entire stadium as a giant LCD screen was a fantastic idea but some of the imagery needed explaining. I guessed brannagh was playing Brunel but don't know if the wider audience would. Same with berners-lee, but bond and bean were nice touches.
Can't wait to get down there next week and see it all in person!

I totally understand that the rest of the world would probably not understand it....but then the western world didn't get the Chinese puppetry until it was translated and explained...lets hope the commentators in all the other countries got a translation or script! Same with Berners-Lee. But that had to be explained to 90 percent of the uk population too!!!

I don't think we did too bad.

Actually, I did understand it and thought it was very well done. A great display of Northern European/British culture, art, myth and history. Have to say, it was a class act.

Did the world forget to include you again Meeks? We're sorry....! ;)

Thought as you worked in London you might have had notification elsewhere!

How remiss of us all! ;)

Yeah mate.... all the traffic jams and construction and stuff that have been happening recently have managed to attract  some  people who are good at throwing things and running ....

No not rioters! Sheesh...how your mind works!

These are other people who are  faster fitter and healthier than any of the dudes who haunt these boards.....

Yep sounds exhausting!

Peace dude. x
