It seems that sometimes, effort pays off.

My parents and my older sister have not been talking for more than four years now, due to faults on both their ends. And I have tried numerous times to get them to just forget any past slights and embrace each other again, because, hey, family matters.
Now, finally, i got a call from my mom saying that, of all the people, my dad, who is usually a rather uptight and stressed-out person, actually made the first step and called her!
Seems a family reunion is in the works! YAY
