Sorry I work in IT and we get nothing but trouble from Mac, and Mac users, and they look down their noses at us just because their choice of PC doesn't intergrate with the other ninety nine percent of the network :P

Meekon, take it easy, man! There's no thing to do here but abide, man! If computers and shit make you mad, just fuck it!

Well, I am in IT and I love my mac.  Not trying to start something or revive something that's already been started, but I am a Macfreak with my iPhone and MacBook and stuff.  I'm just sayin'....

I love the Apples technology, but the way they like to control your hardware/software and how they restrict developers is really a lot like M$, which I hate. As far as I am concerned both business models are very unDude, where the Open Source model that Linux uses is very Dude-like. Sometimes Macs and Linux have difficulty on Windows networks because Windows works very hard to intentionally not play nice with others. I prefer Linux because it's open and free, and most Linux devs work very hard to play nice with everyone (by devs I mean people who work on the major distros and much of the major software... there are far too many people who develop for Linux for me to make an assessment like that across the board).

I love my iPhone, but I hated that to get it to do the things I want I had to jailbreak it to do so. And not even things that should be a big deal, even simple interface stuff. That's why I broke my contract with AT&T and got a Motorola Droid, which uses the Android OS from Google, which is Open Source and based on the Linux platform. I'm considering getting an iPad, but if I do then I'll be dual booting it with Android. Since I know a lil Java I'm gonna start developing for Android too, mostly just for fun though.

The only reason I keep Windows on my machine is just for gaming, for everything else, Linux does a better job and they aren't real reactionaries either. And Apple lost a lot of points with me personally when they started having police kick doors down over their lost phone that had already been returned to them.
That's just like, my opinion man.

I have three PC's on linux at home, two hacked xboxes running it, and a net book (asus eee 701) that is running ubuntu netbook. I carry a usb with a distro on it to boot pc's that wont let you start them any other way.
yep I quite like Linux as well.  ;D

Our Mac users are just snobs who think because they are scientists they know better than the museums IT department, shame their all biologists, archaeologists and botanists so don't have a clue. You should see the way some of them construct their bloody databases.

Very cool Dude. Ima put Linux on my ps3 but Ive been kinda lazy about it. I've got 3 computers with Ubuntu on it one of em being my Eee PC as well. I think too many people think that the only choices a person has is Windows vs. Mac and they forget that there is a 3rd option.

I could totally see a bunch of Scientists being snobs. When I was in college I ran into some of that. I liked Apple a lot back in the day, but I think they have turned into the very thing they were trying to say they weren't. But I like them more than I do M$ and I think having competition is good for the industry and it opens people up to the idea that things can be done differently from how M$ does it. Would be cool to see a series of Linux commercials hit prime time tv.
That's just like, my opinion man.

I make a big point out of using Open Office rather than M$ Office, it's  a much better product as it's truely cross platform.

Ya same here. I think it's just easier to use as well. The way they revamped Office just made things more confusing to me. Of course, part of me is just cheap and I like that with linux and other open source options I can do pretty much everything without spending a dime or pirating software. And Compiz just pwns for advanced desktops.
That's just like, my opinion man.
