I'll be voting for Ron Paul.
I've resisted for a long time and I still think he's a bit of a nut.
But at least he lives in the actual universe and not some alternate reality.

Listening to Santorum I have to say that I find him and his ilk a much more credible threat to our way of life and our freedoms than any Muslim that I have ever known.
If one thinks about this for half a second our minds have to see through the ridiculousness of his premise. There are 2.2 billion Muslims in the world. They do not hate our freedoms. Get the fuck over it. It's a lie. Yes they do have there extremist nut jobs. Who by the way are precisely like Santorum.

I personally have know Muslims who are CEO's of successful companies. I have sat next to them in strip clubs and watched them get lap dances.
I seriously doubt that I could hang with Santorum for an hour without being pissed off at his imposing evangelical bull crap.
And while many of the other candidates are less extreme they all pander to the religious nuts in our country. That goes for Obama also. I imagine it's like that in the mid east as well.
I didn't sign on for a religious war. It's all crap.

I'd probably despise the Muslims also if we were over run with them. Right now it's the damn evangelicals that are pissing on our rug and messing up our quiet beach community.

I despair for all of us in the "free" Western World. We were all fooled by Obama...the great black hope..turned out to be another warmonger(with a nobel peace prize) nullified that award to any further winners (in my mind at least) He changed nothing ...did nothing but hey he's your first black pres..

Ron Paul is a god damn human paraquat. He only campaigns for the legalization of weed so college students will listen and support him. Ron Paul is going to be a fucking nightmare for every member of the proletariat including worker, farmer, and student. Social security? Gone. Government subsidization of farms? Gone. Federal financial aid (that I'm using to get my ass through school)? Gone. Limited government is bullshit and doesn't work without the entire country being eaten alive by corruption and exploitation. I'd rather die than see Paul get elected. But, you know, that's like, your opinion man.

Some people may laugh at this, but Ron Paul was one of the major influences that brought me into a more Dudeist way of viewing the world. His whole message is about taking away the rose-colored glasses and making us see government for what it really is (an institution based on violence and force). It took me a couple years to see things from that point of view, but now that I do, I can't support anything the government does, or any of these s***heel candidates who think every problem can be solved by shoving a gun into someone's chest.

you think the dude votes? really? i think, the dude has lots of opinions but doesnt actually squander his moments on either discussion( unless provoked by walter perhaps)or action.
i find it all entertainment fodder for colbert and take the george carlin view of not participating, and NOT complaining about the outcomes.
as long as there is entertainment value in whoever wins( so im hoping newt) i'm a happy, unconcerned dude. i dont even HAVE a piece to pull out on the lanes.

We do know that the Dude was once very politically active.
He was a member of the SDS. Student for a democratic society.
He spent time "protesting and occupying various, um, administration buildings" and as
one of the authors of the Port Huron statement (which was a real document) we must assume
that, at least once upon a time, he was very very political.
Of course I could believe that he has grown apathetic about it.

And sadly just about the only one who is not 100% fist puppet.
I don't believe we are any safer in the long run with any candidate from either of the big 2.
They make promises but in the long run none of it is true.
Obama came in and turned the economy over to a different set of wallstreet butt wipes.
I'd rather see somebody who isn't bought and sold and it's clear that Newt and Romney and Obama all are.
I'll take that at least. Another decade of having the Government run by lobbyists and wall street will be the end of us.

i believe that romney will win which i think will be interesting regarding the mormon angle because people will start learning perhaps the HISTORY of the mormon religion and its pretty un-fucking-believeable! there was a pbs show called 'the mormons' you can still find it on pbs.org i bet, and it was enormously jaw-dropping.
