Well, they do seem to be throwing off communism, and why not, it never worked. Of course, this could merely be just a massive version of Lenin's NEP (New Economic Policy) of the early Bolshevik days in the former Soviet Union from 1921 to 1928, that permitted private ownership of industries. It was a way of temporally using free enterprise to bolster Marxism until communism could be implemented and hopefully, as far as the Bolsheviks were concerned, be made to work.

"was an economic policy proposed by Vladimir Lenin, who called it state capitalism."

The fundamental argument has always been, if you reference Das Capital as the prime manual for what and how communism is, no state that has claimed to be communist (USSR, China) has actually been communist so far.

A few small groups have achieved something like communism (true communism). Even George Orwell a major socialist writer didn't manage it with some of the groups he was part of.

Both China and the USSR achieved totalitarian states using communist dogma to back their position, neither have ever been truly communist.

On the other hand it can also be argued that true capitalism (the market driving the supply and demand without interference) has never been achieved either.

We live in a "capitalist" state were the few perpetuate their wealth by suppressing the economic and educational potentials of the many.

In either system the ones with a lot continue to aggregate more whilst the ones that have little continue to have everything taken away from them and live in the perpetual dream that they one day can be one of the ones with everything.

If you ask me: Look for the one who benefits!

I liked the Busby Berkeley bit. Reminds me of a dream involving Julianne Moore.

Sort of like Christianity then.
Basically a label to bolster a self delusion while ignoring all the difficult parts about sacrifice and dogma.
Got it.
