Hey Man ... I've been abiding a long time, like since the 70s ... but I'm new to "Lebowski" style abiding. But it's cool ... it's cool.

Long time ago now too man wrote a book, "Shibumi" ... man named Trevanian (not his real name, but his nom de plume, like "Dude"). Shibumi is all about abiding ... it's like the original concept of what it is to abide ... just chilling and being as with it by doing as little or nothing as possible.

Anyway the main character in the book was a very hip dude, Nicolai Hel ... seemed very uncool if you considered he was a world-class assassin, maybe the best there ever was, but it was all about achieving Shibumi.

Now most of you probably know this already, but it seems to me like the book Trevanian wrote about Nicolai Hel was ... dang, seems I lost my train of thought there ...

Just curious???

Welcome to our beach community and rug that ties our room together, WabiSabi. Always good to see a new dude. Would be cool to check out your book, dude. Where does it abide? Is it online?

WabiSabi

Hey man ... thanks, good to be welcome somewhere, sometime.

The book, "Shibumi" is old early 1980s ... famous in it's time and in the cult around it.

Don't know of an online source (but I'm guessing there's one out there) ... but it's like .01 used on Amazon, and available on Kindle too ... but there must be an ePub or PDF copy hanging out somewhere ...

Point is ... worth reading ... settle in with a beverage and let it take you away. When you come back you'll be a different dude. Not a whole lotta books I put that praise to too often.

I'll keep on keeping on here as I can ... thanks again for making space on the rug for me.
