Red Back Dragon Dude

have i mentioned that i am 21 ?

that said i am 62 in grumpy ass bastard years , have ptsd and that Walter is basically a Jewish me

Nervine

27 here. Hey, you're as old as you feel, man.

The harder the wind blows around me, the more I seek the calm eye of the storm.
Takes alot of practice and patience and I still feel the Walter in me raging sometimes but realizing that it happens and not allowing him to come out is the trick.

Smile in the face of disaster and know that you are not a part of it.

Don't let the bar eat you. Don't eat it either. Just let it be, perhaps lean on it or put your caucasian on it but don't try to change it, that's impossible. Instead be Dude.

talesofawesome

I feel you man.

I'm 21 and I'm portuguese... People in here don't chillax man. Everybody is like, doing stuff all the time. Should take a moment to think about things, you know?

Hey dudes!

I'm 20 and I too have experienced the lack of dudist mentality among friends at my age. Contrary to that are my friends within the age of 25-50 who exhibit dude-like personalities. It's not easy for young people to abide nowadays. You're just out puperty/school or both, trying to find out who you are, being thrown into the world of the Big Lebowski expected to get a job and so on. It's a turbulent world and I think it takes a certain kind of maturity, self-understanding and experience to be a dude. Just because we take it easy doesn't mean it is easy!

The Daryl

That's an interesting correlation. Age and... hmm call it "openness"? And it's a helluva thing to realize it when you are standing in it. It must give you perspective that some of us never have/had.

Although I've only recently become a Dudeist, I've been a practicing Taoist over 2 decades. I'm 42, but in my early and mid 20's I was constantly being accused of being "hippy dippy", "loser", "lazy"... It was hilarious. I've actually always been a hard worker, with a strong work ethic (until an injury that left me unable); I just didn't want the same things everyone else did, I didn't always need to be moving, so to everyone else there had to be something wrong with me. It wasn't really until my 30's that peers of my age group either became less material goal oriented, or maybe just less judgmental of others. Maybe it's just because as I got older, and more comfortable with myself and my perceptions of the world, I didn't take it too seriously. I'm not honestly sure which. I know at this point when someone implies I'm a hippy I just smile and say Thankie.

Sounds like a bunch of you young Dudes have a great headstart. Take it easy!
Abide.

Archaic: Live

...He who takes things lightly, abides all things.
The Dude does not confront difficulty, and so has none.

Woah, you are all talking about being young dudes and then I am here just abiding with my 16 years. That being said, I was basicly raised like a Dude! My dad fed me with stuff like CCR, Jimi Hendrix and The Doors, fuck I am even named after Hendrix and Jim Morrison. And on top of that, my dad rocks those old school PJ pants outdoors like a real dude 8) (if only he knew of Dudeism being a thing). Right now he kinda follows Taoism :). The first time I saw TheBigLebowski was when I was 8 years old (because of my dad, yes), I didn't get it at all. But my dad explained it to me, not the story persee, but the mentality behind it. The art of abiding! Now i have seen TBL like 10 times in this short time :D

I kinda lost my train of thought there.... I guess I was just sharing my story somewhere or something like that.

Abide.
Oh and to answer the question, I'm from the Netherlands :)

Judd Dude

Hey Elando dude, all I can say is fuck it, age is just a number anyways. If I went by how I acted sometimes I'd be 12, other times 60. Reality is I'm 36. I mean I get what you're saying, but most people your age know shit about absolutely nothing...The fact that you see this should be an enlightening feeling for yourself! Good for you man. I wouldn't worry about finding other dudes your age, although there are some out there. What's more important(I believe) is finding people who share your enthusiasm for all things Dudely. These are the folks you'll enjoy spending time with.
I have friends of many age ranges from all walks of life and have a lady friend who's fifteen years my senior, though she doesn't act it.

Point to my blathering is, I think you're on the right track and in good company here man.
Peace brother.

Btw I like the avatar man, JB ROCKS!!
"Is this a... what day is this???"

Wumbologist

I'm 16. Life has been pretty cool since I started acting Dude-like a year and a half ago. Being cool with everybody is so much better than not being cool with everybody.

YourDudness

Hey my fellow dudes I hope i'm not late for the party. I live in France i'm studying languages, and I write in my spare time (when i'm not busy drinking with buddies). I see a lot of dudely behavior when i look around me, there are also negative things but the most important thing is to take it easy I guess so I don't mind and I try to be that relaxed guy you cant talk to.

Welcome. I found France quite dudely when there for a few months in college: 2 hour lunches, friendly folks (I seriously don't understand its reputation to the contrary), lots of bunnies, art, and good food. Yeah, I can dig that. On the other hand, seeing the gendarme with AKs or M-2s or whatever on the subway was kinda serious. But they were cool. Anyway, look forward to hearing from you 'round here.

Yeah, I was in London for few months last year and police with regular badass firearms just standing around was so weird at first. And I dont mean pistols, which is pretty normal, but like mp7s and and straight on m4s in tube stations. But they were cool, I took some photos and talked to few of them and they were cool too

edit: oh and Im 24 reporting from Wroc?aw, Poland
