Just saw the story on the whole "Hank Williams Jr. Compares Obama to Hitler" thing on the news. It's quite baffling to me, really. Not because I think he's horrible, but because I think what he said was blown greatly out of proportion.

So apparently Hank Williams Jr. was all bent outa shape about the golf game that took place recently, where Obama was playing with John Boehner. Hank ranted about this in a news interview saying, "Come on, come on. That'd be like (Adolf) Hitler playing golf with (Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin) Netanyahu. Okay. Not hardly." So apparently the public's responce to this is: OMG! Hank Williams Jr. just compared Obama to Hitler! For Shame!

So now Hank has done an apology for what he said, since he's in trouble with the public eye. But the way I see it, he is NOT comparing Obama to Hitler in the first place. He could have also said it was like if Yoda and Darth Vader played a game of golf, or Mr. Lebowski and The Dude, or Fire and Ice (if they were sentient)! It's a comparison of the relationship the golfers have with each other. He's saying that he finds it foolish for total opposites to meet for a game of golf. Though later in the interview, he said he believes they shouldn't even meet an agreement with each other for any kind of compromise whatsoever.

Of course, this particular opinion of his is not one that I support. I'm just saying that he's clearly comparing one relationship to another. A cuter version of this could be: You have two friends who are dating. You think they're a very cute couple who "go together like fries and ketchup." Obviously neither of your friends are easily purchased food-stuffs, so I would hope that you don't have to worry about one of them getting mad at you for calling their special somebody a french fry.

Can you post a YouTube vid of his comments? That would be interesting.

There ya go, man. That was the interview where he made the comparison. Again, I don't support everything he's saying, I just think that the content was blown out of proportion by media that were hungry for a story.
