Hey M dude, you aren't in any danger area, are you? Hope you're OK, dude. Take care, man.

Watching the live coverage, crazy shit, man. Hope the police dudes can get it under control as quick as possible.

There was a little arson in Pompey last night but co-incidental and no rioting. More likely protest against Harry Redknap, who owns property near to the fire and has refused to allow social housing to be built near it.

So far the riots haven't come near the museum (Natural History Museum).

And this is from a friend here at work:

Nick Clegg "warns" of riots if Tories are elected (11Apr10).

A proper protest ends in a party, not a riot.

Get use to this kind of SHIT because of greed and ignorance (War Machines and the Wealthy) this is comming to your town soon ...... to many people and not enough to go around ...... in school they taught you this ..... history always repeats and Rome always falls .........  Duh......... we will leave this all in ruins but fortunately ........ Mother Nature Bats last .... she will get rid of every trace of us in time ......
Don't get me wrong these are real paraquat that would resort to this sort of stuff but
sadly I would have to agree that this is almost inevitable.
I fear that there is at least one  glitch in the fundamental premises that our global economic infrastructure is built upon. The proverbial chickens are coming home to roost. We aren't the first to see this coming and we've managed to stave off the coming of the dead end generation. But it's like water behind the walls of New Orleans. Eventually the Levee is gonna break.

When are we gonna run out of bubbles? And when is the pathetiically inadequate "trickle down" gonna dry up entirely.

When the Dude rises, this is our calling, bring the chill and bring authenticity. Money is not the only form of wealth, I postulate that us poor Dudes are some of the wealthiest around.

Sadly I would have to agree with this.

Tenuous at best.

Yeah but you gotta feed the monkey.
And our ability to abide depends on our freedoms and relative security, including economic security.
A lack of material wealth is fine if we choose it.
If it's a screw job then it's a question of our basic freedoms.

It's a very complicated case, lotta strands in ole duders head.

Check out Buddhist economics, developed in the 50s it is the basis for Bhutan's economy. Gross National Happiness, instead of GNP.

Nothing wrong with making money, what matters is how you made it, and what you do with it.

A look-back at last week's UK riots from one of our fore-most curmudgeonly satirists, Charlie Brooker:

If you don't know who he is... it might help to know the style in which he presents himself before you read it.  It helps to picutre it as part of his Newswipe program, so here's a quick clip to put you in the mood for the article:

Charlie Brooker He is like a god of sarcasm.

I miss his computer game related program (Gameswipe), only place where someone would call a pile of crap a pile of crap.

Gameswipe, Newswipe and Screenwipe are the holy trinity of media-accountability shows.  If you've acted like a prick and made a pointless TV show that glorifies stupidity, or made a game without a plot and dialouge as shallow as the scrap of paper you wrote it on, or if you've spent all day reporting on snow instead of actual news... he'll be there to tell you to quit your day job and leave us all the fuck alone :D

Whow...someone else who knows about Bhutan!

Yeah they have a superb grasp on politics and tourism...

My special lady friend and I decided to pick a random place from an atlas and go there...we chose Bhutan.....and were planning our trip for next year...even going so far as to enrole us both on TEFLA course so we could stay for six months or so....of course as you know this is on hold for a bit.

Tears now.

Peace dudes.
