...is chillin with friends, grilling up some food, good conversation, oat sodas, and some good music. All that other shit with college and work and figuring out "what you wanna do when you grow up", you can't be worried about that shit.

Am I wrong?

well.. not wrong for you maybe, but i quite enjoy going to school and following my bliss-- i'm very interested in knowing what i'll be when i grow up!

besides, grillin', good convos, music, oat sodas, and school aren't necessarily mutually exclusive activities...  ;D

See I never knew what I wanted to be when I "Grew up", and if you ask some of the people close to me I never really did "grow up".

I agree. But the fly in the ointment is that "you gotta feed the monkey".

Personally it's enough to say I work so myself and my family can Abide and find some good times.
And you know what, somehow it seems to work out.
I ate guts out worrying about money and stuff for quite some time till I just arrived at the "Fuck It" moment.
And at least in my case magically the world went back to turning.
I still find myself stressing about money. Mainly after fighting the Bank for a year to get to keep our home.
It left me stressed beyond words. You just can't believe the crap that has been going down with home loans since the big melt down. Some of the banks are doing everything they can to foreclose on people.
Even if you want to pay your mortgage.
It's ugly.

Again I agree with biker dude.

Whats the point of a ninety nine pence (cent) burger deal when all you have in your pocket is ninety six pence (cents)?

I have been there. as much as I enjoy kicking back with my mates it is nice to have a roof (I did live out of a camper van for about a year) and central heating when it's cold, and the ability to buy the odd bottle of wine occasionally.

As I have said before I am still picking up the pieces from the last life style crash but I am slowly getting there.

I still can't help myself when I just have to photograph my breakfast because I can only too clearly remember days when I couldn't afford to eat.

Unfortunately I have found no way of being paid for sitting and chilling with my mates.

I hear you guys.
I work three part-time jobs, so when I do have time to hang out with friends, I try not to think about that shit.

Also with the bullshit going on with my college stuff, I've been pretty stressed lately.

I've got severe anxiety issues so I very rarely have these moments where I'm like "yeah work sucks and shit happens, oh well"

Figured I'd share while I was pretty intoxicated.
Now I'm sober, and it's back to the land of wage slave-ism.

here's where i think that i wish the grandparents had never sold the bar... it's hellish work, but i'd love sitting around chilling with my mates, daughter on the stage providing us with tasty tunes... i've got a stool with your name on it meekon. unless you'd prefer a booth  ;)

Well, I'm drunk again.

I guess what I meant by "important" is the shit you remember later on. For instance, when I'm 65 and chillin' with an oat soda in hand, I'm going to remember the great nights spent with friends way more than I ever will the human paraquats that come into my work day in and day out, tryin' to make me as grumpy and miserable as they are.

Sure, feeding the monkey's important. We all gotta do it. And having an education, finding a job that suits you, that shit rocks, man. I hope I can be so lucky. But in the end, as long as you can keep cool in the summer, keep warm in the winter, and love and be loved in return, those things are the really vital things in life. Well, including food, water, and sex. Hahaha.

Keep abidin', dudes.
