To let anyone it may concern know that I will be deleting my Facebook account in a day or two (give the family time to get used to the idea). I never really enjoyed using the site and you all know my opinion of the FB Dudeism pages (incidentally, M5 - you didn't respond to my query about the possible censorship of your post on there, well never mind, was just curious). Will probably be relying on Google+ to keep in touch with friends and family (and maybe orkut).

I signed up. Got a big kick out of corresponding with people that I haven't seen since High School and college. Then remembered why I haven't seen them for so long.

Now I haven't even signed in for many many months.

Yeah, FB's ever-evolving privacy policy is too shady for comfort. It is also a bit tricky to delete your profile - had to look it up; you send in a request and they process it for 14 days - during that period, if you sign in then your profile is automatically generated again (and you have to start the process over). So, I won't be sending any messages. It looks as if - although still experimental - Google+ is set to slap FB's - er, face. You have to have a gmail account and then get yourself invited. There is a profile page, you can upload videos, pics, etc. Split your contacts into categories and choose who gets to see what. There is also a 'hang outs' option (which I haven't tried) where you can video chat http://www.businessinsider.com/4-reasons-skype-should-fear-google-hangouts-2011-7. Might be useful for Dudes who want to plan shit or just say hello. Anyway, just trying it out.

@M5 - I was scanning the FB Dudeism page and I noted that you had posted a comment about the prayer recitation at a recent (play) event. The next time I looked it was gone - was just curious if you deleted it or if it had been censored. I'm not getting paranoid or anything

. I did, however, delete all the pics I have put up on the page (and was going to do the same for my links but couldn't be arsed). If it's going to be the same story with "The Rug" then fuck it - I'll stick with my own rug - no big deal.

I've been back to the F*ck Book page and at least they are being consistent and suppressing all the comments, but I have noticed that all the Dudeist page seems to be at the moment is some Dude re-posting the Dudeist Paper articles, why bother?

Huh, well your first comment was actually posted (obviously) but it appeared to be censored in content, too: (paraphrasing) "I'm going to post a comment that I put on the Dudespaper:" and that was it. Perhaps it's been a slow info week for them or someone is taking a break hence the re-posting of old articles. Ah! Maybe they are all prepping for the upcoming Lebowski Fest movie thing. Anyway, thanks for checking that out, mang. Fuck it, eh?
