We drag around all these past things that color our every moment and mood and the key is to lose that and be 100% in the moment.

So many people have made this a principle of their belief system. Many psychiatrists aim for it. It's basically what L. Ron Hubbard was trying to accomplish with Dianetics in 1950: help people get out from under their baggage.
To conquer the world, take it easy.
If you must do something, do a J
and let the world conquer itself.

I find it revelatory that so much of the way that we experience the world has nothing to do with the actual present moment. It gets polluted by our accumulated crud.

But Hubbard bothers me. The name it's self makes me uncomfortable.

Out here we are all his children

A dudeist meditation to bring us back to the fucking moment, man.
The Dude (breathing in)
Abides (breathing out).
I use this all the time when i'm tempted to mark it zero.
The dad abides.
