So, I've been thinking about trying acid. In my 40 years, I've never done any but, the more I read and hear about the experience, the more I think it might get rid of my uptight thinking about this case (called Life) and that it might unify some of the strands in the old duders head.

Any advice for those who have? Any warnings?  Although I've read all the debunked myths about LSD use, I still have enough of the old square community in me to be a little scared.

So any thoughts?

Find some one who has tripped before to trip with. Make sure your head is in the right place, it can go bad. Do not look in a mirror.

I used to love tripping, but I have seen others take a bad ride. Yes it does open "the doors", you just have to be careful what's on the other side. Having someone experienced around is invaluable. You in New England?

Good advice...I am in the Blue Ridge Mountains. I had planned to do this with an experienced guide. Given our locale, I wonder if doing this under the stars and mountain vistas would be a plus or is inside the preferred nomenclature?

I don't have any expectations beyond the fact that, as you said, it may open some doors..good or bad, strikes or gutters as long as there are no scissor-wielding nihilists..fuck me!

The key issue with place is familiarness, strange surroundings, either inside or out of doors, can be problematic. You don't want to wonder off into strange woods. That said, I always dug tripping out side.

See here I differ.

I have to say that I have never done acid myself, because of some advice I received from a friend:

He said "There is a line between here and where you go to on acid. Every time you take it you don't come back to the same place, you are that little bit closer to the line each time. Your problem is that you are so much closer to that line without acid, that when you take acid the probability is that you wont come back across the line."

Which is why I don't take acid.

Don't get me wrong I'm not saying don't, but then I'm not saying do. Your choice mang.

It does change you, you can change purposely, I did it, totall personality reboot, but every person is different, some should some should not. This is not weed or oatsodas, it is for realz, so due consideration is in order.

I have tripped probably over a hundred times, between shrooms, mesc and LSD, but I have seen people not handle their first trip well at all. It's like any other dangerous activity, you have to take precautions and make sure you can handle it, not everybody can skydive, but those that can love it.

But like Meekon, for obvious reasons I can not say to do it, or not. Personal choice, but be smart and be safe.
