Steve was an absolute Dude. The more I think about him the more I realize this. He was my sponsor, my best friends Dad and a most excellent friend. Steve ran a group home for people in recovery, spent most of his off time fishing and relaxing. One of the last major things he did in his life was buy a Harley. He'd always wanted one. i do believe he put himself into deeper debt than he could afford to to do it. Somehow in a weird way that seems like such a Dude thing to do. My grieving process was moved along by being able to take his Harley out and ride along the Mississippi River balling my eyes out, feeling like I was seeing through his eyes. To The Steve, may his spirit live long in me and all other "dudes' as well. If you are a Dude you will have loved Steve.
