I performed a Dudeist wedding a little while ago. The state of Missouri (at least in the county where I am) had no aggression with Dudeism.

It was a simple ceremony, the bride and groom elected to write their own vows. I basically gave a welcome, talked about my friends and how great they are, then re-wrote  an Irish blessing with Dudeist imagery.

All in all it was very quick, which is funny, because EVERYONE, from the bridal party to the guests that attended thought that was the absolute best part. The quicker the better.

Anyway, here's a pic of myself and the groom just before I went out there to ruin his life.

From what is Dudeism trying to liberate us?Thinking that's too uptight.

To what state of being is Dudeism trying to bring us? Just taking it easy, man.

By what means does Dudeism attempt do this? Abiding.

Right on man. Dig your style dude.
The dad abides.

Far out; may the groom dude abide in his new role as a dude helping his lady friend conceive, man!

My friends asked me to ordain their wedding and I have another friend who received his Dudeist ordainment... after reading the philosophy I checked with the soon to be Bride and Groom, and they agree the dudeism is the way to go!  Thank you for your post because I wanted to make sure Missouri and Kansas would allow a Dudeist to perform the ceremony!  They live in KS, but wasn't sure if the ceremony is in MO or KS.  I just moved to Kansas City, KS and am still unsure of everything.... is that in KS or is that in MO???  :)

Thanks again!

Thing is you can perform the ceremony where ever you want, the problem is whether it's legally binding.

But I don't want to start another flame war about that little gem.

Personally I'm all for giving blessing to anything.

Here in the UK there are some very particular groups that hold rights on the legal side of the process.

Then again a Pagan friend here had a ceremony in a registry office for the legal documents then we all went into a near by park for the Pagan blessing.

Then I got conned into chefing the BBQ at the reception afterwards.

PS I thought the photo was the happy couple until I actually read the post properly.
