Any time you spend in the gleeful pursuit of knowledge, connectedness, or even just idle enjoyment of life, is time you spend being Dude.  Depending on who you are and what your calling is, being Dude could mean anything from engaging in non-violent civil disobedience, to just stretching out in a backyard hammock and catching some rays.

There is no "formula" to being Dude besides a plaintive desire for a world in which people are free to do their own thing.  Matter of fact, if you're reading these forums and contemplating what it means to be Dude, you're already there! :)

If Dudeism had a central creed (which, thankfully, it doesn't), I think it would be a heapin' helpin' of "live and let live" with a side of "to thine own self be true."

What do I do in appreciation of The Big Lebowski? I watch the movie.

What do I do as a Dudeist? I enjoy it.

Much like others have said above, there isn't anything I do with the thought in my head "I do this because I'm a Dudeist." I just do things. Those things fall in line as "things a Dudeist would more than likely do."  For example, I bought a stranger lunch the other day just cause I had the spare cash to do so.

I don't act like a Dude because I'm a Dudeist. I'm a Dudeist because I saw I was acting like a Dude.
At least I'm housebroken.
