I think that dude just lost his job.  Oh, and dude - dudes don't work on a dude ranch.  Cowboys and ranchers work on a ranch.  A dude in that sense is a city-slicker who thinks he's a cowboy.  Maybe that 14 yr old child recognized that man as pretending to be an officer of the law.  All I have to say is, "Calmer than you are."
