Yeah, but, see, up Maine, even if they dislike you, they won't show it.

Here in Mass, even if they like you, they won't show THAT.  "Fuck you!" or a glower and a flipped bird are pretty traditional greetings amongst some of my friends.

Plus, Maineiacs have this great way of talking - "Ya can't get theah from heah," being only the tip of the dialect iceberg.

When I was a kid, we were up around Moosehead Lake for a summer holiday, and my Ma wanted to make some cookies or something, and we didn't have butter.
She goes to th' grocery store, an IGA of all of a hundred square feet or so, with a mere two aisles.
Ma walks up and down the store, sees no butter, does, like, three or four laps of the tiny store, and gives up looking, and goes to ask the man.

"Well, s'a funny thing.. Jus' this mahnin', lady comes in, asks if theah's any buttah. Tole 'er theah weren't none."
