My Dudeist Philosophy.

What makes a Dudeist, Mr. Lebowski? A pair of metaphysical suppositions....

Tend to agree with my compeer, Meekon. A few years back (about 10 years after that situation with that camelfucker in Iraq) I fell into Taoism with a dash of Zen (this was after my infamous Ayn Rand stage...well, at least it was an ethos).

Anyway, since i see dudeism through that lens, it's really a modernized retelling of the taoist,-zen tradition with maybe a little of the Greek Cynics, Epicureans and even a bit of The Jesus (the original Jesus..Not the compromised second draft)..especially the Gnostic Jesus (Gospel of Thomas). 

So I guess what I'm blathering about is that Dudeism is not a religion or belief system that stands alone.... more of a continuation or distillation (like a fine batch of Kahlua) of a valued human tapestry..very much like a rug that can be peed on by getting too uptight in thinking about it or even labeling (which is what I just did...).

BTW, do you find that watching TBL widened your vocabulary? Micturate? Compeer? etc.??

I like Dudeism because it fits so well with Do No Harm.
Abiding = Doing no harm
Doing no harm = Abiding.

It's a journey not a destination.
And it all starts and leads back to the movie.
I dig it because it exists on many levels. And there are lots and lots of ins and outs.
