Anyhoo, yeah like the 'departed dudes' idea - like 'em all really except, maybe, 'the dude himself. I think human paraquats, aggression and nihilists could all be lumped together. "Chimes' is a bit left-field, but hey, isn't that what we're all about (well, partly); what kind of chimes did you have in mind - door chimes, mystical chimes or some such?

You could be joking about the chimes but that wasn't a topic suggestion just away to say "state you input". I like Rug-pissers a lot. I thought of taking them from the De Ching too but I think we should be more informal since it's for fun and not meant to be a Holy book. At some point we should finalize a lit and figure out how to set it up for submissions. All input is helpful. Sorry I'm a bit distracted today as I am stuck on the news about this mass shooting over here in America. Pretty scary stuff.

Wasn't aware of the shooting - doesn't seem to be a lot of info at the moment; people are saying that folk shouldn't rush to politicize it but you can't tell me that the ass-bagger movement and all it's evil Muppet masters haven't gone a long way to encouraging this kind of atmosphere. Yes, the chimes thing (as stated under the dudeku) was a gag. Just personally not into the mythologizing an imaginary character any more than it is now. That's just my opinion and I wouldn't object to a thread - maybe the spirit of Dudeism needs to be explored more than the figure. Anyway, I wouldn't do too much planning (that involves too much work - you don't want to end up wasting your time); let's just throw up a thread or two and see how it grabs others.

Oh yeah, I don't like that either. I was thinking The Dude Himself would cover any haikus about the Dude from the movie, the Dudely Llama or even Jeff Bridges. How do you want to do the thread. Maybe a large heading of Dudeku Book (or something like that. Then subheading of each topic so submissions could go to the right place. That could make for easier editing later.

BTW, I like your take on the Tea Baggers and would love to share it with a friend...with your permission of course. : )

Sure, go ahead but that does sound like a new board rather than a thread; but Dudeku Book work for me.

Yeah, Uber - you'll have to wait for DL; but that doesn't mean you can't choose a topic and write (one can always copy and paste, later).
