uploading a personal picture

Hi,
I'd like to have a picture coming along with my posts.
I looked into the profile thing. But I can't figure out how to do it. Probably my mind is too uptight.

Would be much obliged for any lead.

It is a bit tricky - if you mean you want to post a pic as an avatar: choose the image from a file hosting site (such as photobucket) copy the code and paste it into the required field on your profile page (check the box that says 'I have my own picture'). You should delete the [img] at either end of the code so you just have http:whatever.etc Then save your changes.
Signature pictures (at the bottom of your posts) are different in that the [IMG] part is kept on. You may have to delete one (either end), sometimes you are left with [img][img]whatever.thing[img][img] - this is what you want: [img]whaterver.thing[img]. Save changes.
Same for pics in your posts: press the picture icon and that will give you your field/brackets.

Hope this doesn't serve to confuse you even further but I've just rolled out of bed and so, y'know - my attempt at assistance should be viewed as an urban achievement

and proud you can be of all of that achievement. It sure made a whole lot of sense to me.
I'll give it a try, man. Let's see whether I will be able to achieve, too, and with the use of my legs.

Well, so it all worked out fine. The picture got a bit dinged up during the 100% electronic hand-off but otherwise it went all right.
Actually, I got a bit squared out during the process, so to speak, which is something I would not have expected here, as this a here is no darn square community, but then I take comfort in the thought that the re-size makes me look less a light-weight than I really am.

Speaking of uploading pics - I got a notice today from photobucket that I am close to exceeding my allotted bandwidth; so I have been scouting round looking for another host and I tripped over this site: http://imgur.com/
I have just put a pic on here and I didn't even need to sign up - (I did later, though); so, anyway - some Dudes might find it useful.
