Hate to bum my brother dudes with the current heaviness but I haven't heard any Dudeist input into the whole wiki leaks deal.

Obviously sticking it to the man. Publishing the original uncompromised first draft. But what say you dudes on the subject?

To me the entire case is about showing 2 things.
1.It shows how insecure this crap was all along. Wikileaks just gives a forum for people to leak secrets in way that is public. Just like the NYT and Washington post with the pentagon papers. But obviously there are people with access to this stuff who can and do leak it. Wikileaks just illustrates that fact.

2. Shows what human paraquat our government often times are. Fist puppets man.

Check out the words of a very dude like dude. John Perry Barlow, founder of the Electronic Frontier Foundation and former lyricist for the Grateful Dead.

I posted a couple of things, but due to the fact that I was in the process of putting away about my 4th oat soda I can't remember where I put it.

So, I will summarize here; I mentioned something about the fascist capitalists here in the US are having a shit. A big pile of their dirty laundry and undudeness is being exposed and there is nothing they can do about it. No one stops the net, man. No one.

<putting my oat soda down to type with two hands>

OK, I found what I posted at.................

http://dudeism.com/smf/index.php?topic=1500.msg13576#msg13576  ..............

HOLY SHIT, are the fascist capitalists shitting their pants over the truth coming out on wikileaks! THE GOD DAMNED PLANE HAS CRASHED INTO THE MOUNTAIN for the fascist capitalists!

Check out http://wikileaks.org/

*** Buddha comment; DB, that would be me, is not against open free enterprise. Far from it, dudes. The dude who came up with the "self replicating home factory" is an awesome example of private free enterprise in action and an example of people that scare the living shit out of fascist capitalists who want to control all markets.

Banjo Dude

I can't currently be arsed to dig up references and stuff, so, forgive me on that point... Too into listening to Rachmaninoff to go fuck up my groove by reading up on unpleasant assholes, so, I'll just work with whatever I can get to shake out of my head...

Firstly, this Julian Assange character is, like, super-awesome even before you get to the wikileaks stuff:  Not only does he have a total Bond-bad-guy name, he LOOKS the part, too!  I'm serious.  Get a pic of him, now imagine him in Lennon shades or something, and put a white Persian cat in his lap.  If you don't immediately think, "No, Mister Bond, I expect you to DIE!" (despite the fact that that requires you to confabulate Blofeld and Goldfinger, neither of whom really looked like Assange) well, then, I don't know what's wrong with you, you probably don't waste ~nearly~ enough time on fruitless pursuits like memorizing shit from foolish movies ;)

Then, there's wikileaks.  Anyone who's that dedicated to the whole "The Truth Will Out" thing can't be all bad.  Even if he does look like a Bond villain.

Last week, I was trying to explain what I had read about the allegations against him to my Ma.  Heh, she cut me off when I said "minor rape,"  assuming, not entirely unreasonably, that it refers to a sexual assault against a minor, a most heinous thing, indeed.  Of course, that's not what it means.  From what I understand, the "minor rape" in question was sex with a consenting adult and the freaking rubber broke.  There's something about a woman posting tons of shit on her twit account bragging about hanging out with the guy and the like, then removing it later that's pretty fuckin' suspicious, too.

Then there was something about Assange having a dalliance with another woman, which woman A found out about.  I guess she was harboring illusions of being Mrs. Assange or something.

Oh, and the young .. lady .. in question is apparently a Christian, so ~obviously~ the solution to such a heartbreak is to charge the man with rape, minor or otherwise.

Argh, my head.  So, THEN there was something about the charges being dropped, only to come back up after all this US consular document crap or whatever it was they leaked (after offering the US the opportunity, apparently, to REDACT portions of the docs! said offer was clearly declined)

First one is SC's hilarious description of part of the story, second link is an interview with a Salon writer who is supportive of wikileaks.  Both are worth wasting the seven or eight minutes it'll take to watch.  WAY more worth it than reading my semicoherent babbling.

And I know Anonymous isn't exactly .. dude, but I find it hard to hate anyone who hates Scientology that much.

Fuck you guys for making me think about this stuff when I don't have any tea OR beer.  Maybe I'll go down a bottle of cough syrup.  That'll make me forget.  :-\

I dig your style dude. Much good observation here about Assange 007 style. Yeah, have to agree; that whore, that strumpet, that banged the dude and then squealed about it fucking pisses me off.

What kind of lady friend enjoys zesty coitus with a dude and then posts that shit on the web just to fuck with a dude? Fuck that, MARK IT ZERO! I'd tell her to go fuck herself. Next frame!

Totally agree dude, but I would say anonymous can be pretty dude at times. I mean, a good thing about anon is that its not actually a group so.. it doesn't really exist and stuff. So if one anon is undudely, you can't label anonymous as undudely. And the method of protesting is pretty dude too, I mean I've been to protests and had to run from police, its tiring stuff. With the anon protest you just click a button and watch your pc protest for you. People who want to change the world without putting down the oat soda and leaving the computer desk? Sounds pretty dude to me.
