Huh? The first time I clicked the link it took me to a Kula Shaker song - after Caesar Dude's comment I had another look and now it goes to a guitar solo.  ;)

Well dude, we just don't know. Can it be said the Beethoven dude's 5th or 9th says nothing for lack or words?

Song's don't need words, music is about emotion. In fact, human communication has only been skewed by conventional language.

Also, who defines music as having structure, modern tempo, and lyrics in the sense you're accustomed to? Music is  music, it's an emotional experience, and feeling you percieve in you're own right.

The other part is that communication is ever changing, and evolving; In tandem with personal human growth. So while technology may be able to represent whatever "say's it all" some day, it might not mean the same now as it will then or vice versa.

The songs you like as a child or teenager could "say it all" at the moment, but as you change and grow new songs could represent whatever says it all for you...

I personally feel that the best representation of what "say's it all" would be something universal...A song with lyrics wouldn't fit that. And the cliffs of Dover has a unique way of highlighting just a bit of everything. Johnson, the guy who wrote the song (eric johnson) said he can't actually take credit for it, because the song literally wrote itself within 5 minutes after it just "came to him from a higher place".

If you listen to it it's a really laid back and chill vibe, very dude. I get more from it than that, but to each his own I suppose. It also helps that I play guitar and understand EXACTLY what he feels playing the song.

You're damned if you dude, you're damned if you don't.

btw, does anyone know what song is playing in the scene where the dude is in his robe at home mixing a caucasian when his land lord (coen) comes over?
